HBO Max | Learn how to create, edit, switch, and delete HBO Max profiles.

In HBO Max, choose your profile and then + New Profile (you may need to scroll right if you have more than 3 profiles).
Select an avatar or choose Skip.
Enter a name (between 1 and 14 characters).
To create a Kids profile, turn on Kids Mode, choose a Ratings group, and add your child's birthdate.
Add a birthdate and gender (Adult profiles only).
Choose Save.

Once saved, you can edit your profile to make changes.

Personalize your profile

The first time you use a new Adult profile, you can personalize your experience by choosing your favorite genres, brands, shows, and movies. To get started, choose Let's Go. If you don't want to share your preferences, choose Skip to start streaming.

Here's how to switch to another profile:

In HBO Max, choose your profile.
Choose a different profile.
If prompted, choose Exit Kids Profile and enter your 4-digit Parent Code to exit the Kids profile.

If you switch to a profile that's protected by a Profile PIN, you'll need to enter the 4-digit PIN.

You can change the language of text in the HBO Max app.

Here's what happens when you open HBO Max:

TV device: If the last profile used was a Kids profile, HBO Max will open with this profile. If the last profile used was an Adult profile, you'll see the 'Who's Watching' screen.
Phone, tablet, or computer: HBO Max always opens with the last profile used (you won't see the 'Who's Watching' screen).

You can add a Profile PIN to restrict access so others can't watch HBO Max using that profile.
